Terence V.
"Terry" Milholland joined EDS in September 1999 as chief information officer
(CIO) with leadership responsibilities for the global alignment of the company's internal
information technology (IT) resources with its business objectives and transformation
activities. Mr. Milholland reports to Chief Financial Officer Jim Daley. Specifically, Mr.
Milholland directs internal IT planning and architecture, manages EDS' internal
application portfolio, investment in internal IT infrastructure, knowledge management
initiatives, and directs the implementation of new enterprise wide systems. Mr. Milholland is widely recognized for his ability to energize people and focus them on a common objective, enabling them to achieve superior results on large-scale projects. Before joining EDS, he spent 21 years at The Boeing Co., serving as its CIO since early 1997. In that role, he had leadership responsibilities for the company's technical infrastructure, application portfolio, applied technology research, the Y2K-remediation program, and developed the company internet strategy and infrastructure. He also led the computing architecture planning and deployment that supported the company wide common processes initiatives for Boeing's eight product organizations. Before serving as CIO, Milholland was vice president of Information Systems for Boeing's Defense & Space Group. During his tenure at Boeing, he also served as director of Information Systems for the 737 and 757 airplane programs. Mr. Milholland, who joined Boeing in 1978, also held other computing and business assignments in the Commercial Airplane and Defense & Space groups. He was responsible for applying computer technology, developing major application systems, and planning and deploying systems architecture within Boeing. He later directed activities in developing and maintaining application systems for the Commercial Airplane Group, with particular emphasis on worldwide computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing support for the 777 and 737-Next Generation aircraft programs. Mr. Milholland, born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, earned a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in computer science from George Washington University. He also attended the Management Development Program at the Harvard School of Business.
