2002 SecurE-Biz EA Leadership Awards

  • Dick Burk, HUD, Award for Successful Integration of Enterprise Architecture with Capital Planning at HUD.
  • Brion Cook, EPA, who has led much change at EPA and who has helped transform the EA process.
  • Mike Tiemann, DOE, for Leadership as the Chair of the Enterprise Architecture Working Group of the Federal CIO Council.
  • Lew Sanford, GSA, for his exceptional efforts in supporting the Fed CIO Council and OMB's E-Gov initiatives.
  • Lee Holcomb, for his leadership of the Federal CIO Council AIC and support of the many OMB efforts.
  • Randy Hite, GAO, for his development of the EA assessment report for Congressman Davis' committee.
  • Debra Diaz, for her leadership in putting into action the E-Government concepts into FirstGov portal.
  • Rob Thomas, USAF, Award for Pioneering the use of Enterprise Architectures in the Air Force and Customs Service.
  • Jim Reid, CIA, for his efforts in establishing Enterprise Architectures as a cornerstone for IT planning in the Intel Community.
  • Robin Quinlin, OSD ATL, for her leadership in helping transform antiquated EA processes in DoD.
  • Woody Hall, for his outstanding leadership and accomplishments in making EA implementable. Congrats on having the highest GAO Enterprise Architecture grade point average.
  • Paul Kurtz, for his role in architecting the Cyber-Security Strategy for the National Security Council and Homeland Defense.
  • Bill McVay, for Developing and Issuing Federal Policy for the Integration of Enterprise Architecture and Capital Planning.
  • Dr Laura Callahan, for her Architecture Leadership by Integrating Enterprise Architecture and Capital Planning at Dept of Labor.


Three special awards were also made unbeknownst to the awardees:

  • Debra Stouffer, for her service to OMB and the IT community in moving Enterprise Architectures into the mainstream.
  • Jim Flyzik, for his unwavering dedication to the Federal CIO Community.
  • Mark Forman, for his vision, leadership and follow through in making Enterprise Architectures actionable in the federal government. Without his leadership, none of this would have happened.
