Edward J. Kinney, MPA, CISM
Director, Information Technology Security
Customs and Border Protection
Department of Homeland Security

Mr. Kinney is the Director, Information Technology Security, Customs and Border Protection
within the Department of Homeland Security. His responsibilities include the enterprise-wide
program management and technology solutions associated with policy, architecture, certification
and accreditation, incident response, and other security functions in unclassified as well as
classified processing. During his federal career, Edward has worked in the Department of Veterans Affairs
and Department of Treasury as a Program Director and Project Manager for numerous information
technology initiatives.

In addition to his work experience he holds two Master's degrees from California State University
system and is a graduate of the DoD National Defense University Chief Information Officer
Certificate and NSTISSI 4011 Certificate programs. In addition, Edward is a graduate of the NDU
Advanced Management Program in 1993 and is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM-ISACA).
